Holistic Support for Complicated Times


Earlier this year, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta provided an opportunity for Raising Expectations (RE) to share some of the insights they’ve acquired in their 23 years serving marginalized youth on Atlanta’s westside. 

Last summer, we were able to assist them in crafting a piece for the Saporta Report that highlighted some of the ways that the pandemic has exacerbated achievement gaps between low- and high-income students, as well as how quality programming can rise to meet these challenges. 

RE is more than an afterschool program. They provide holistic, long-term support that addresses students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. It’s not just about learning, it’s about believing in youths’ potential and holding them accountable. RE teaches students to expect more from themselves and their futures.

We’re proud to see them getting the recognition they deserve, and we’re grateful to them for sharing their expertise on this critical matter.
