3 Ways ChatGPT Can Boost Your Nonprofit Marketing

Generative AI and ChatGPT for Marketing

By now, many will have heard of the technological breakthrough taking the world by storm. ChatGPT, the latest and most sophisticated chatbot to hit the market, is an AI language model that is pre-trained on vast amounts of text, allowing it to respond to queries with a human-like attention to nuance, context, and style.

Naturally, there is a lot of excitement and concern surrounding this powerful new tool. But while it may not be the best way to generate content for publication, there are still a lot of ways that you can use ChatGPT now to enhance your marketing efforts. Here are a few tips to get you started.

1. Brainstorming

One of the most difficult parts of executing a plan or project is getting started. Whether you’re trying to name a new program, draft a compelling subject line, or brainstorm blog ideas, with a few clicks you can have ChatGPT provide you with a comprehensive list of options and ideas. While none of these may be the final answer, it’s a great way to jump start your own creativity and get the ball rolling.

2. SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is not for the faint of heart, and to be sure, comprehensive SEO still requires a great deal of (human) expertise and research. But with ChatGPT, it’s never been easier to generate lists of long tail keywords, as well as ideas for how you can create engaging content that is easy for audiences to find.

3. Press Releases

Nobody likes writing press releases, but being an inanimate program without thoughts or feelings, ChatGPT doesn’t seem to mind. Just enter a prompt like: “Write a press release announcing X Nonprofit’s new program connecting marginalized workers with job opportunities” and in moments you will have a solid template that you can spend a little time adjusting.

To summarize, ChatGPT is a powerful new tool with some limitations. But don’t let those discourage you from giving it a try.
